Package Designs

During these projects, we were given the freedom to completely design packaging and rebranding a company’s packaging.

Steel City Creamery

For this project, we were given the assignment to create a package for a new ice cream brand in Pittsburgh. We were given multiple flavors to choose from and then our illustrations had to either connect to it individually or be the brand itself. I chose to go with vegan strawberry to really get the colors to stand out for when someone would be in the store. To me, it is easier to find and very distinct within a freezer full of all different types of ice creams.

Driftwood Jerky Co.

(J&K Beef Jerky Rebrand)

For this project, we were given the assignment to create a complete rebrand for a beef jerky company. They are located in Huntington Beach, California. I decided to go with the beach theme. My final logo idea is the broken-down fence that are associated with the beach. Putting the tin can in the center of the two fences, relates the packaging and the overall brand together. My idea was to make the actual packaging the tin buckets because it can be used as a souvenir. Once people are done with their beef jerky, they can use the buckets for shells, sand, and many other things on the beach. I went with colorful sunsets for the background of the labels, making each color relate to the flavor of the jerky. I included the signs that we see before walking on to the sand (towards the ocean) as the main focal point and holding the flavor information.
